3-3-3 Method..key insights
Oliver Burkeman, the best-selling author of "Four Thousand Weeks" shares his 3-3-3 Method:
Spend the first 3 hours on your most important task / project (deep work), our cognitive limit is 3/4 hours per day). For best results do this in the morning during your peak energy state!
Then: execute 3 shorter tasks from your to-do list. (e.g., calls, meeting, delegating, invoicing).
Complete 3 maintenance activities (e.g., journaling, cleaning, exercise).
So...in essence, the 3-3-3 method involves:
3 hrs on your most important project.
3 shorter tasks.
3 routine maintenance activities.
But...the most important thing you have to set your own standards for a "productive day", the constant push for more can make you feel like you're never doing enough...
The real question is: how do you define a productive day?
